Imagine covering 30.5 kilometers in 8 minutes. Impossible? Not quite! Because on the high-speed line from Shanghai airport to downtown Shanghai, you cover precisely this distance at 430 km/h. The corresponding high-speed railway wheels are produced on our Kraussel lathes, and reprofiled and maintained with technologies from the NILES-SIMMONS-HEGENSCHEIDT Group (NSH). We thus provide maximum safety at top speed. This also applies to local, long-distance, and freight transport. Product Portfolio

Since 1950, the NSH Group has installed more than 3,000 wheel set processing machines all over the world. In addition to underfloor wheelset lathes, this also includes above-floor machines in flatbed and portal design as well as universal wheelset lathes. Furthermore, the production program includes presses for the assembly and disassembly of wheelsets, an automatic diagnostic system for measuring the wheelset condition in overrun operation, and turning and grinding machines for the machining of railway axles. For the wheel machining sector, the NSH Group product portfolio includes a new generation of vertical wheel machining centers designed according to the most modern aspects.

We were guests at the Karlsruher Verkehrsbetriebe. As a customer of our subsidiary HEGENSCHEIDT-MFD, they use the U200-400 underfloor machine for wheelset machining. The modern underfloor wheelset lathe not only meets all currently known work and accuracy requirements, but its overall design is also geared to future developments.
