Sustainability as an Opportunity: Our Agenda for the Future
In a conversation with the podcast Made in Germany 2.0, our Sustainability & Compliance Manager, Katy Seidel, provided insights into the NSH Group’s sustainability strategy. She emphasized that sustainability, for us, is far more than a legal obligation: it is a key pillar of our future viability, enables access to new markets, and strengthens our profile as a modern employer. For us, sustainability is a matter of social responsibility – towards the people we work with and for, and towards future generations.
Responsibility and Transformation in Mechanical Engineering
For us, sustainability means bringing economic, environmental, and social aspects into harmony. In the traditional field of mechanical engineering, achieving this balance presents a significant challenge, as it requires sensitivity, resources, and leadership at all levels. We are well aware that our industry has long been shaped primarily by economic indicators. Today, we are called upon to give equal consideration to environmental and social factors. We see a great opportunity in precisely this: by consciously choosing to act sustainably, we actively shape the transformation, build trust with customers and partners, and position ourselves as a modern, future-oriented company.
Structured Foundations for the Future
An important milestone on this path is our first voluntary sustainability report for our German site. This assessment shows how we are already taking responsibility today and forms the basis for our next steps: expanding reporting to our global locations, developing concrete climate protection and social initiatives, and transparently documenting our progress. Sustainability makes our contribution to society and the environment visible, strengthens our competitiveness, and helps us attract young talent. For us, one thing is clear: sustainability is not a short-term project but an ongoing process that actively secures our future.
